Yeeeaaah, nice one  :metal:

Really like the loose and easy vibes. Cool and arty long intro, catchy verses, really nice guitar and vox sound.

The mix sounds well-balanced with clarity and without any harsh edges (I’m listening with bluetooth ear buds with my morning coffee, for what it’s worth.

So aye, nice one D.W. :+1: Job very well done.

Coool, a connaisseur! You recognized the VOX amplifiers, that’s great. For what it’s worth, nothing beats the normal channel of an AC15 or AC30 when you hit it with a Rangemaster type treble booster. Even the current C1 and C2 incarnations - just remove the bright caps and input resistors, and Bob’s your uncle!

The AC30S1 though is a different breed, it sounds fantastic out of the box.

Thank you so much for the favourable review Mate, looks like the back-breaking work was worth it. And it’s good to know that the mix works for ear buds as well. Believe it or not, it was done with Bose Companion PC speakers, who tend to cancel out certain bass frequencies. But since I like to hear the song in the room, I adjust the bass with proper headphones and continue with the speakers.

The Stepford Crash Pilots will return with something Special.

Thanks again!

Sincerely,
SCP

Interesting, and I feel your pain…! I’ve got Rokits but the room is so untreated and acoustically-challenged that I do most meaningful mixing using Beyer DT 770s…

Anyway it’s a feather in your cap that you pulled off the mix with those limitations :+1: Nice one.

Thanks for the flowers, they’re much appreciated! Is there a place where one can listen to your work? I didn’t find anything here.

I see what you mean by acoustically challenged. Dear me, before I found out the PC speakers were the culprits (different placements brought no improvement, only different frequencies were cancelled, dang!) I thought the fretboard of my bass guitar was full of dead spots… The cheapo Sennheiser HD 429 phones generate a balanced enough sonic impression to start the mix with.

I didn’t know KRK until now, looks interesting but way out of my league financially, as are the Beyers you use. So I agree with Inspector Japp, played by Philip Jackson, in Agatha Christie’s The Mystery Of Hunter’s Lodge: “Well, you’ll have to make optimum use of your resources, won’t you!” Which brings me to the KISS principle and the reason I use a GNU/Linux Distro, but that would be another conversation…

I see you’re located in Racibórz. Long time ago I stayed in Ustroń for a year, and on my occasional visits to Germany by car I passed through, eventually crossing the border in Zgorzelec. Small world, eh?

Have a nice one.
Best, SCP

I’ll share some stuff here soon, for sure :+1: I’m halfway through mixing a dozen tunes and it’d be grand getting a second opinion on them.

I have some old stuff floating around Bandcamp but it’s shit so I ain’t sharing it haha.

Dead on :+1: top quote.

Ha small world indeed…! I really like Ustroń, Brenna and Wisła. Lovely corner of the world. Also liked Zgorzelec/Görlitz when we drove over this summer :upside_down_face:

I’m not Polish but moved here north of two years ago. We live right on the edge of Racibórz county, nice and foresty and rural. Not much in the way of music here though - for a decent gig you have to go to Rybnik, Gliwice, Zabrze or even Katowice.
